In the rush of everyday life, it’s easy to assume we’re prepared for anything. But a simple question such as “Do you remember how to do CPR?” quickly reminded us that confidence doesn’t always equal competence. Most of us hadn’t thought about first aid in years, let alone practiced it.
That’s when Maya Mateva, one of our colleagues, stepped in with a thoughtful idea. She proposed organizing a First Aid workshop as a corporate initiative and also as an opportunity to equip and empower people with the skills and confidence to make a real difference in critical moments. Because at Amusnet, We Care is a vital part of our values and something we truly believe in. This was one of those moments when caring meant being prepared to help someone in a life-or-death situation.
Soon after, 25 colleagues signed up for the workshop, which we hosted in collaboration with First Aid Academy, a team of experienced medical professionals that specialise in practical, real-world First Aid training. Designed with real-life scenarios in mind, the training went beyond standard instruction to focus on building composure, quick thinking, and purposeful action in emergency situations.
The training began with clear, practical guidance - how to assess a situation, check for breathing, and assist an unconscious person safely. The most impactful part, however, was the hands-on practice. Colleagues performed CPR, treated wounds, and controlled bleeding under expert supervision.
Everyone’s intense focus reflected just how serious the theme was. It served as a powerful reminder that behind every role, every conversation, and every desk is a human life that may one day rely on a colleague’s readiness to act.
The response to the workshop surpassed all expectations. With growing interest from colleagues, we are already planning a follow-up session because true care extends beyond a single event, and learning is an ongoing journey.
As the workshop concluded, a shared sense of quiet confidence emerged, accompanied by a deeper connection among participants. It was one of those rare experiences that leaves you feeling more informed, aware and capable.
At Amusnet, we often emphasize growth and pushing boundaries within the gaming industry. Yet at the core of our mission lies a fundamental principle: We care. We care about each other, about doing what is right, and sometimes, that care means having the knowledge and readiness to sustain a life until help arrives.
Because, in the end, what truly matters is being there for one another when it matters most.
