What does it take to keep business processes efficient when a company is growing rapidly, expanding its operations, and entering new areas of business?
This was at the heart of an on-stage conversation at SAP Connect, where Deyan Yanganov, SAP Manager, and Yanita Lazarova-Zheleva, HR Manager at Amusnet, joined journalist and host Desislava Stoyanova to discuss the company's experience with implementing SAP technologies.
Through the interview, they shared the business challenges that led to the adoption of SAP SuccessFactors and SAP S/4HANA, the changes these solutions have brought, and the lessons learned along the way.
Amusnet's rapid expansion brought new opportunities, but also increased operational complexity. With growth came the need for more structured, efficient, and scalable processes, making the introduction of a centralized and reliable HR system an important step in supporting the company's development.
The introduction of SAP SuccessFactors in 2024 marked a significant step forward. Starting with Employee Central and subsequently expanding to Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance & Goals, and Time Sheet, Amusnet developed an integrated platform supporting the employee lifecycle.
As Yanita Lazarova-Zheleva explains:
"When a company grows at this pace, the systems and processes behind it need to evolve just as quickly. For us, implementing SAP SuccessFactors wasn't simply about introducing new software. It was about creating a reliable foundation for our HR processes, reducing manual work, and making everyday tasks easier for employees, managers, and HR teams."
At the same time, Amusnet's expansion into the production of land-based gaming equipment created new operational requirements, including product traceability, component management, and service processes. The implementation of SAP S/4HANA helped bring these activities into a unified system, improving data accessibility, process transparency, and operational efficiency.
While the two projects addressed different business needs, they shared an important challenge: introducing new technology also meant reviewing and improving the processes behind it.
For both teams, structuring existing processes, ensuring reliable data, and involving the right stakeholders proved essential. These were also among the key lessons Deyan and Yanita discussed during their conversation with Desislava Stoyanova.
"One of our biggest lessons was that implementing a new system is also an opportunity to rethink how the business operates. Technology can automate processes and provide better information, but the real value comes when business objectives, people, and processes are aligned. That's why early involvement of managers and key users is so important," shares Deyan Yanganov.
The transformation continues beyond the initial implementations. Today, the teams are focused on making better use of the existing platforms, introducing further automation, improving the experience of employees and managers, and strengthening integrations and data-driven decision-making. Future plans also include expanding SAP S/4HANA to other companies within the Amusnet group.
The conversation at SAP Connect offered a practical perspective on digital transformation, going beyond the technology itself to explore the decisions, challenges, and collaboration needed to make it work.
For Amusnet, it was also an opportunity to share the expertise of the people behind these projects with the wider professional community, demonstrating how their work supports the company's continued development and growth.
