Amusnet Continues Its Support for Sport with an Initiative at Vitosha 100

Amusnet Joins Vitosha 100 in Support of Sport and Active Communities

Some sporting events are much more than a competition. They become a tradition that brings together generations of people ready to test the limits of their endurance. Vitosha 100 is one of them. It is among the most iconic sports challenges in Bulgaria, with a history dating back to the 1970s. Today, the race has a cult status, attracting professional athletes, ultramarathon runners, cyclists, and thousands of mountain enthusiasts.

This year, Vitosha 100 brought together a record 3,440 participants, making the latest edition the largest one held so far.

The ambition to continuously build on what has already been achieved is also at the heart of the partnership between the software company Amusnet and the event. The company not only supported this year’s edition but also established a special prize fund for new course records. The initiative encourages participants to pursue new achievements and push the boundaries of what is possible.

“Amusnet’s support for Vitosha 100 is a natural continuation of the company’s long-term policy to invest in sport, active lifestyles, and communities that share values such as perseverance, discipline, and the ambition to grow. The company has been consistently developing similar initiatives, including Amusnet Charity Run, organised for the second consecutive year in support of the Bulgarian Paralympic Federation,” explained Konstantin Ivanov, Director of Engineering at Amusnet and one of the driving forces behind the company’s sports initiatives.

The events are part of Amusnet’s anniversary year, celebrated under the motto Winning Together, because the most meaningful achievements happen when people inspire each other to become better.

Amusnet introduced a special prize fund at Vitosha 100 for new records in the running and race walking disciplines. The company announced a total fund of €10,000, with €5,000 in each of the men’s and women’s categories if the current course records were improved. Amusnet also provided additional cash prizes for the winners in the different categories.

The race delivered strong competition and impressive results. In the men’s race, Plamen Penov claimed victory with a time of 8:02:50, ending Hristo Tsvetkov’s five-year dominance. In the women’s race, Maria Nikolova triumphed for the eighth time, finishing in 8:48:14 and improving her own record by more than eight minutes, receiving Amusnet’s grand prize.

“For more than four decades, Vitosha 100 has brought together people who believe that the greatest competition is the one with themselves. For us, it is extremely valuable when partners such as Amusnet recognise this philosophy and stand behind a cause that encourages active lifestyles, perseverance, and the pursuit of new heights. The special prize fund for new course records is an additional incentive for participants to build on their own achievements and write new chapters in the history of the race,” explained Anna Pencheva, organiser of Vitosha 100.

The new women’s record marked a strong start for the prize mechanism, through which Amusnet will continue to encourage outstanding achievements as part of its long-term support for sport.
